Position:              Mechanical Designer/Engineer

Location:             Greenwood, MS (On-Site at our Manufacturing Plant) 

Hickok Waekon, LLC. is a Contract Manufacturing and Engineering company that is looking for a qualified candidate to fill the position of Mechanical Designer/Engineer at our manufacturing facility in Greenwood, MS. We design, manufacture, sell and support various products in the Transportation and Industrial Industries (Automotive, Aviation, Locomotive, Emissions and Food Processing Plants). The corporate headquarters is located in Cleveland, OH.

Primary job responsibilities will be for the design and development of the mechanical aspects of new products and enhancements to existing products. Be involved in prototype assemblies including 3D printing assemblies, electronic components and PCBs.

The ideal candidate will be qualified to degree level or equivalent and have a proven track record in mechanical design. Be a talented ‘all-rounder’ and be able to work in a multi-disciplined design and development team. Possess excellent interpersonal skills, have problem solving and creativity skills, honesty and integrity, an eagerness to learn and a high level of personal motivation, drive and energy.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

1. Qualified to degree level or equivalent experience with a proven track record in mechanical design
2. 2+ years’ experience in a similar role
3. CAD drawings / modeling
1. AutoCAD 2D
2. Inventor 3D (currently using 2020) a plus
4. Product Design
1. Material knowledge in metals and plastics
2. Plastic injection molded parts
3. Electronics product packaging
4. Machined and fabricated parts
5. Production assembly drawings
6. Structuring bills of material
5. Construction of prototypes and design evolution:
1. Component specification and procurement
2. Design for manufacturing
3. Familiar with 3D printing and STL files
6. Communication skills across a variety of activities:
1. Part of a new product development team
2. Active involvement with other departments
3. Interfacing with manufacturing on product refinement
4. Consulting with marketing over new product concepts
5. Research and cost analysis
7. Experience with related industries a plus:
1. Automotive diagnostics
2. Aerospace instrumentation
3. Emissions Testing equipment
4. Custom cable assemblies
5. HVAC coils

SALARY: Negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

JOB TYPE: Full-time, 6:30am-5pm Monday through Thursday…some Fridays
